Description

Sitting alongside our popular Messini Beachclub, Buca Beachclub faces the wide, sandy bay at Analipsi Beach, with the mountains that hug the bay providing a dramatic backdrop.
Our first adult-only beachclub, Buca sits alongside our popular Messini Beachclub, facing the wide, sandy bay at Analipsi Beach, with the mountains that hug the bay providing a dramatic backdrop. Buca Beachclub shares activity areas with Messini beachclub, but the main hotel, bar, restaurant and pool areas are strictly adult-only.

With only 57 rooms, a minimalist design and a new à la carte restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s a small hotel with a boutique vibe. Hammocks in the gardens swing in the breeze, there’s a beautiful glass sided swimming pool, where our staff will bring you complimentary refreshments as you lounge, (they’ll even clean your sunglasses if you ask). Change it up a little and slide into the outdoor hot tub, or while away the hours on one of the sumptuous daybeds.Need to sooth your muscles? Head to the newly refurbished hydro spa, with sauna, steam room and hot and cold plunge pools. Why not spoil yourself with a treatment or two?

To top off a wonderful day, head to the stylish à la carte restaurant for a delicious three-course meal, cooked up by our talented chefs. There’s an extensive wine list including a premium selection – ask our waiters for a recommendation, they’ll be more than happy to help.

Adults only
Key information
Step outside the beachclub and you’ll know you’re in rural Greece as the immediate area is fairly sleepy. Steeped in history and tradition, there are many places to visit and discover, with lush verdant valleys, endless sandy beaches, hidden coves and sheltered bays as well as small rural villages set into the slopes of the Taygetus Mountains. In contrast, the lively, cosmopolitan city of Kalamata has a lot going on. The dramatic Taygetus Mountain range frames the city and the waterfront is lined with tavernas, restaurants and bars.Airport transfer time:Approx. 20 minutes Rooms:57

Accommodation information
The modern design of the beachclub means that most rooms face the pool with a balcony or terrace so you can enjoy the stunning sea view (some rooms look over the back of the beachclub, across fields towards the mountains).

The rooms (the majority of which are spacious twins or doubles) have a simple stylish elegance to them and are finished to a very high standard. If you’re travelling solo, there are four single rooms available without a single supplement. We also have a couple of suites that we can honestly say are the best rooms in any of our beachclubs – simply stunning! We want you to drift off and have the best nights sleep, so all beds come complete with luxury mattress toppers, duvets and bed linen plus there’s a choice of pillows – sweet dreams.

Fancy a lie-in? Then continental breakfast can be delivered to your room, together with daily newspapers (on request, for a small charge). There’s also Nespresso coffee machines in all rooms, so you can start each day with a perfect cup of coffee on your own balcony.

Each room has air conditioning, pre-stocked fridge (beer, wine and soft drinks – replenished weekly), Nespresso coffee machines, telephone, TV, safe, spa gift pack, bathrobe and slippers, beach towels and hairdryer. There’s free premium Wi-Fi in the public areas and in most of the rooms, to use with up to four devices.

Activities
Activities on the water
Dinghy sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are all included on your holiday to Buca Beachclub, these water based activities are shared with guests at Messini Beachclub.

If you head out before breakfast, you’ll find the bay is usually nice and flat for some water skiing or wakeboarding and as we include up to two free tows per person per week, there’s really no excuses not to give it a go. If you want more water skiing and wakeboarding you can pre-book beginner and intermediate upgrade packs for £150 per person.

Late morning is the perfect time for kayaking or the chance to head out on the stand up paddle boards, both are the perfect way to explore the bay under your own steam.

As the day goes on, the wind really starts to pick-up. From lunchtime onwards, dinghy sailors and windsurfers head to the beach to make the most of the large sailing area. There’s group RYA tuition available in both if you need it, or else chat to one of the instructors who will help you get on the water.

Wind conditions
The wind typically picks up around midday, blowing on-shore most days, with cross on-shore conditions on windier days. The typical wind force ranges from 3-4 with the most consistent conditions in June, July and August.

Activities on the shore
Choose from mountain biking, road cycling, tennis, climbing on the climbing wall, yoga and a range of fitness classes – all are included.

The extensive cycling programme at Buca Beachclub means it doesn’t matter whether road biking or mountain biking is your thing. Lemon and olive groves stretch past technical climbs and long swathes of open, winding roads. Joining guests at Messini Beachclub, you can take part in guided rides, or simply borrow a bike and a Garmin and take advantage of expertly chosen routes at your own pace.

Back at the club, you’ll find one of our best tennis facilities, with a total of seven courts shared between Buca and Messini Beachclubs. There’s group coaching included every day and plenty of time set aside for free play. If you want to get more from your tennis, play regularly back home, understand the rules of the same and have a good level of fitness the premium tennis package could be the thing for you.

Available for a little extra, you will received intensive coaching in small groups of six. This is available to pre-book if you book a 10, 11 or 14 night holiday starting on a Saturday. Guests on seven night holidays and arriving on a Tuesday can book to join the package locally (subject to availability).

New for 2017, there’s a climbing wall (which is also a shared facility) located at Messini Beachclub. There’s inclusive daily instruction on the wall or you can pay a little extra and go rock climbing at the beautiful site of Kardamili (approx. one hour away).

An adult-only yoga area in the grounds of Buca Beachclub with two classes per day, held in small personal groups, means you can make the most of the laid-back vibe. Your instructor will focus on developing flexibility, strength and balance while exploring different variations of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga. If high energy is more your thing, stroll over to Messini Beachclub and sweat it out on the fitness deck.

Dining
If you enjoy a more refined dining experience, you will love what we’ve done at Buca Beachclub. There’s a stylish à la carte restaurant (where all meals are served), with a professional team of waiters to look after your every need.

If breakfast in bed is more your thing, a continental breakfast of pastries, preserves, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee can be delivered to your room, and for a little extra, the daily newspapers too.
