Description
An iconic Verona hotel set in the heart of the city
This 1920s’ Liberty-style hotel and former home was originally built as a city residence for a noble Austrian family and it is now a classic landmark in the heart of the historic city. It offers character and comfort on the Corso Porta Nuova, less than ten minutes walk from Piazza Brà and the Verona Arena for a night at the opera. It is also within easy walking distance of the Piazza delle Erbe and Juliet’s balcony, and only a fifteen-minute walk from Porta Nuova railway station which is ideal if you’re planning a day trip to Venice or Milan.
The staff offer a warm welcome and the elegant lobby houses a splendid display of paintings and sculptures by famous artists from Ciardi and Cascella to Purificato, Murer and Arnoldi. In the summer months the intimate little garden is a welcoming oasis from the bustle of the city and the bar offers a relaxing atmosphere and is popular with locals and guests alike for pre-dinner cocktails. Verona is a small city and it’s easy to get around. Borrow one of the hotel’s free bicycles so that you can explore at leisure.
The rooms feature Liberty-style period décor and some have a balcony or terrace (on request). Double Rooms overlook Corso Porta Nuova or the small garden. The Deluxe Rooms are more spacious.
