This 8 day itinerary takes in two special places in theBrazil without the need for taking any internal flights. Spend 4 nights exploring the sites and sounds of Rio before taking a road transfer to Buzios – a resort town merely 170kms north of Rio. With beaches offering calm, clear waters and the east coast open ocean coastline pulling in surfers alike, this resort town is a fantastic 3 night beach break from the thronging city of Rio.

Arrival into Rio de Janeiro

You will arrive at Rio de Janeiro airport and be transferred to your hotel. Remainder of your day will be at leisure.

Rio de Janeiro (River of January), commonly referred to simply as Rio, is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil. Rio de Janeiro is famous for its natural settings, its carnival celebrations, samba, Bossa Nova and hotel-lined tourist beaches, such as Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon. Some of the most famous landmarks in addition to the beaches include the giant statue of Christ, known as Christ the Redeemer, named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Sugarloaf mountain (Pão de Açúcar) with its cable car, the Sambródromo, a giant permanent parade avenue lined with grandstands which is used during Carnival.

Sugarloaf mountain excursion

This morning you are free to enjoy the marvelous beaches.

In the afternoon, take a Sugarloaf Mountain and City tour – we will go to downtown Rio, passing by the principal points of interest, including the Cathedral, in the heart of this enchanting city. The tour then continues to the foot of the Sugar Loaf – Praia Vermelha area – where you are taken by cable-car to the mountain-top (ticket is included). Once there, you will enjoy the magnificent view as the sun sets over Copacabana Beach, before returning back to your hotel.

Corcovado and Tijuca Forest excursion

In the morning, head out on the Corcovado and Tijuca Forest tour – after being picked from your hotel, the tour will continue to the Cosme Velhon for a journey through the dense Atlantic Rain Forest of Tijuca, to the Christ Statue on Corcovado mountain. The guide will show you the wonderful sights of Rio. The tour continues to São Conrado and Pepino Beaches where the hang gliders land and, by noon, you are back at the hotel.
