Pench Tree Lodge

An off-the-beaten track forest lodge with rustic-chic treehouses adjacent to Pench National Park.
There are few experiences when visiting ‘Kipling country’ that can beat staying in a tree house. If you’re looking to be one with nature but don’t want to forego your modern comforts, the Pench Tree Lodge is a worthy choice. There are just 6 tree houses set within the expansive grounds of the lodge and each features an expansive terrace with sweeping views. You’ll be close to one of the lesser-used entrances to the park – perfect for those early-morning game drives.

Each day begins with an early morning wake-up call for your safari. They start at sunrise and last for a few hours allowing you plenty of time to track big cats and other wildlife species; your breakfast will be served from the bonnet of the Jeep when you are out in the park. On return to the lodge you can choose to relax by the pool, however there are plenty of other activities on offer – there’s almost 40 acres of grounds to explore at the lodge after all.

Just join one of the naturalists and follow nature trails on foot or bike. You can also head to nearby villages – try and visit one on the day of their weekly haats (bazaars) to get an authentic taste of daily life. Activities don’t need to end once the sun has set – you can head out on a night trail and possibly see or hear the region’s nocturnal wildlife species or enjoy an unforgettable bush dinner by candle and lamplight.

Good to know
There are no lifts at Pench Tree Lodge so a good level of fitness is required to climb and descend the steps to your treehouse.
