A luxury jungle lodge with exceptional service.
The exceptional Reni Pani lodge is perfect for those truly looking to get away from it all. There are no televisions or internet; this is a place to disconnect with the outside world and reconnect with nature. From your arrival, which consists of a river crossing by boat, you’ll experience a homely and welcoming atmosphere and a respect for the nature and the environment. You can’t help be swept up with the love and respect for nature the owners and staff show. This is never more evident than during the daily game drives; while wildlife sightings are largely down to luck the guides try their very best to increase your chances of spotting elusive species such as leopards, sloth bear and, of course tigers. As well as 4×4 game drives, the lodge offers a wide variety of other activities such as bird watching and nature walks and treks. There’s even the opportunity to head out onto the water in Satpura with both boat safaris and canoeing trips through tranquil and narrow creaks.
In between game drives and nature activities the lodge, which is surrounded by jungle landscapes and agricultural land, is a peaceful spot to return to. There’s a small, refreshing pool and a charming library – both perfect spots for some down time, and of course you can head back to your cottage and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest. In the evenings the Gol Ghar – the meeting place on which the lodge is centred – is where guests tend to come together and share stories of the day’s adventures. It’s here that lunch and dinner are served and there’s also a bar and terrace where are fire can be lit on cooler nights.
There are just 12 individual cottages set throughout the lodge’s grounds. These are located in the forest, on the hillside or by the seasonal stream, locally known as a nallah – each area with its own distinct style. The forest units are set in the woods across the stream and they feature a large open-air deck on the roof of the bathroom. The hill units are at the highest point within the grounds and they have incredible views over the forest canopy towards the reserve and Satpura hills while the nallah cottages are set adjacent to the seasonal stream.
