This new all-suite hotel pairs traditional character with modern luxury to create a romantic retreat.
Its design might be sensitively in keeping with the traditional Cycladic architecture of the island – white-washed buildings, stone walls and minimalist interiors – but the concept at Santo Maris Oia is a little different. Modern furnishings include statement pieces – there’s a real attention to detail from the lighting to the wine list – and suites are housed in ‘neighbourhoods’ inspired by the Greek islands.

The main pool area is spacious with plenty of seating – the perfect spot to sip refreshing watermelon cocktails from the Pool Bar and watch Santorini’s dramatic sunsets. Dinner is a real treat, when Alios Ilios Restaurant serves up impeccably presented modern Cretan and local dishes alongside a great selection of vintage Santorini wines. To unwind completely, the Holistic Concept Royal Spa offers treatments including hot stone massages, detox wraps and hydrating facials, and there’s a heated indoor spa pool.

Accommodation is divided between the Voreies Sporades, Dodekanisa and Cyclades neighbourhoods. The suites are individual, with their name and design inspired by the islands of Greece. All are contemporary with neutral colours and clean lines, and all have a heated Jacuzzi on the terrace. For added romance, opt for the Exclusive Sunset Suites, with sublime views of the Aegean Sea from the bedroom.
