Description
A great-value hotel with plenty of charm and a welcoming atmosphere.
With an interior design that is reflective of the island, low-rise buildings and well maintained gardens, the Tangerine Beach Hotel is a great choice for a simple and laid-back escape. People return to this tropical spot year after year to enjoy its friendly service and home-from-home vibe. There’s a large pool that sits at the heart of the resort, as well as a tranquil Ayurvedic spa, both of which are the perfect place to retreat to following some time out exploring the local area or wandering along the wide gold-sand beach.
While there’s a range of international cuisine on offer in the main restaurant, Paaruwa, there’s a particular focus on local dishes with a number of curries to enjoy. This restaurant is where all of your included meals will be served, however you can also dine in the à la carte restaurant, the open-air Café Lotus or the neighbouring Royal Palms Beach Hotel for a supplement. Alternatively, you could head out into Kalutara to experience some more authentic local flavours. For a refreshing cocktail or glass of local beer, visit the lounge bar, Pebbles. If you don’t want to leave the pool to grab a drink, there’s also a swim-up bar.
While the sea-facing Deluxe Rooms are a comfortable and spacious choice, it is well worth upgrading to a Duplex Suite, especially if you’re seeking a little more space. These two-storey rooms have a bedroom on the upper mezzanine level and a living room on the lower floor. The Executive and Luxury Suites are even larger and both feature a separate living room and bedroom with grand four-poster bed.
