Description
Cruise through the backwaters
A cruise through Kerala’s backwaters is one of the most enchanting ways of experiencing the local way of life. Kettuvallams, or rice boats, were the original transport in the backwaters and they were used to transport produce and people. Made completely from natural materials, including wood and thatch, many have now been converted into houseboats.
Stay in your own private one-, two-, three- or four-bedroom houseboat, each of which has a small crew who will navigate through the canals and prepare your meals. The cuisine on board is typically Keralan with delicious local seafood as a major focus. There is a small sundeck where you can sit to take in the landscapes and watch everyday life on the backwaters. This really is an experience not to be missed in this beautiful part of the world.
