Description

World-class luxury, sublime service and a super-chic design with Khmer influences.
When you’re cocooned in the serene poolside gardens and elegant spaces of the Park Hyatt, it’s hard to believe that you’re right in the heart of the city. This luxurious hotel is just minutes from the magnificent Temples of Angkor and its interconnected pools, beautiful courtyard and holistic spa provide a refreshing antidote to the heat and crowds of the temples. Re-energise with a few laps in the saltwater lap pool or relax by the lagoon-style garden pool which has peaceful nooks for catching the rays or reading in the shade, and attentive staff offering cold water and skewers of exotic fruit. The minimalist décor is a fusion of super-modern and traditional Khmer styles, with black and white photos of the temples adorning the walls and an impressive collection of contemporary and traditional Cambodian Art.

A beautiful banyan tree set in a pool provides the focal point of the tranquil courtyard which is overlooked by the main restaurant, The Dining Room which serves traditional French and authentic local dishes. The gently swinging tables – relaxing day beds with a table attached – provide a unique setting for a leisurely meal. Try the popular local breakfast, num banh chok, also known as Khmer noodles, or enjoy western favourites such as eggs benedict and delicious pastries. And there’s no need to worry about missing out if you’re setting off early for a day of temple touring as you can request breakfast to go. In the evening Khmer-inspired set menus are often accompanied by performances of traditional Apsara dance and Bokator – a Khmer martial art. Find a cosy nook at The Living Room and sink into one of the plush velvet sofas to indulge in afternoon tea with three tiers of sweet and savoury delicacies. There is also a conservatory-style coffee shop serving sandwiches, sweet baked goods and home-made ice-cream.

The stylish rooms feature dark wood, hardwood flooring and contemporary art. Upgrade to a Park View King Room or a spacious Park Deluxe King Room for views of the city or courtyard.
