Description
An intimate getaway hidden within the heartland of remote North-Eastern India
Found at the edge of a renowned World Heritage Site, the Diphlu River Lodge is the ultimate retreat for travellers seeking an exciting Indian wilderness experience. The eco-lodge resides in an unparalleled proximity to the gates of the Kaziranga National Park, parkland abundant with Indian rhinoceros, elephants and Bengali tigers. The lodge offers excellent hospitality, wildlife-expertise and personalised experiences for all guests. As well as organizing elephant and jeep safaris, they can also arrange dolphin safaris, visits to tribal villages, and rubber plantation walks.
Dining at the River Lodge is often a relaxed and social affair. Served in the ‘Machan’, the Lodge’s charming communal dining area, buffet menus vary between delicious international and local Assamese cuisine. For a unique experience, riverbank picnic lunches can be arranged, and we love the outdoor coffee area, a delightfully romantic seating platform resplendent with rustic charm.
You can expect an exclusive and intimate stay at the Lodge, as there are only 12 cottages available for guest use. Cottages are simple yet comfortably equipped with large beds, en-suites and private verandas. In keeping with the traditional style of the area
